Canon XM2
Canon XM2, a really great camera. It's not really THAT expensive and you will be really satisfied with the camera. The camera has 3CCD which will give you great colors.
I've had this camera for 5 years now and it is still running really good and I use it at least a couple of times every week. There have only been one occasion were I had to send the camera away to be repaired. The canon support took care of it all, repaired it without charging(the insurance were a couple of month old) and were really really friendly.
The handle on top of the camera makes it perfect for all you skateboarders out there who want to make moving shots. You just grip the handle, attach a fish-eye and keep it at a low angle and the result will be really good. The fact that you are rolling on a skateboard while recording usually results in a shaky camera. This is not the case with the XM2 since it has an optical image stabilizer, which makes it even more perfect for recording skateboard movies. Incase you want to film with a "shaky" camera you can just turn the optical image stabilizer off.
The manual adjustments on the camera is really easy to use. shutter speed and blender is really easy to adjust. Also the white balance is easy to adjust while filming. The camera has a gain which can be 6, 12 or 18db but to get the best result I never use this since I want top quality. But if you want to film on location where the light is not very good you can choose to use the gain and you will still be able to see what is going on.
The only thing I would like to see different is maybe a bigger lcd, it's 2.5" and sometimes it seems to be a little bit to small. DVCAM would have been a good feature for users who wanted to use this format. But overall this is a really good camera which is worth every penny! If you are looking for a semi pro camera I strongly recommend this camera.
